Facebook Faces a Judge

On Wednesday July 25th, Facebook.com founder Mark Zuckerberg has been accused of stealing the idea, code and concept of facebook.com.

Founders of ConnectU, Divya Narendra and Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, have until August 8th to build their case against Zuckerberg and the other founders of Facebook. The Winklevoss twins claim that they went to Zuckerberg in 2002 with their idea, and invited him to their team in September 2003.

"We gave him the HarvardConnect.com code and shared our ideas," said Cameron Winklevoss. "We told him the idea was confidential."

Zuckerberg launched thefacebook.com in February 2004, the twins were shocked and filed a cease-and-desist letter not 6 days after the launch. They hired a developer and launched their website, connectU 3 months later. But by then Facebook's growth was to strong and they could never catch up.

So, I ask my reader's, do you think that Zuckerberg stole the idea/code from ConnectU?

I feel that it is a strong possibility.

Well in all fairness if the chap did still the concept then you can look at it one of two ways. The concept wasn't patented so fair play. The alternative is - Facebook should either be handed over to connectu or closed down - tough call

Tough call for the legal bods either way
